So anything by a particular brand, and not on spec?  That helps loads, cheers!

Umm........ last time I checked, they only made one semi hollow double cut, the H-535. I had one, very nice, very impressive quality.

I started one as carving practice... never got around to finishing it.

Seems you should finish it quickly! :P

I like that King guitars too!

Gretsch's are no good - my pickups won't fit.

Those Kings look interesting....

I misread you had HB sized ones. Sorry.

In that case look for an electromatic version of the Malcolm Young called the G1910.

Also in natural.

It's not giving me GAS, but that is mighty cool. 8)

So are we talking £1500 suddenly, or do Gretsch have a budget range?

That one is the budget range. This model is not made anymore so you have to look around. It has a bolt-on neck and it's not semi-hollow like a 'real' Jet but it is chambered AFAIK.

If you can find one, they usually go for $300 - $450.

haha, you have a problem...

i'd second the eggle which headtheball suggested (though i haven't tried the waves)- if you look hard enough, you can often find them NOS for £500 or so, even less if you go second-hand. you might have to hold out a while for the wraparound bridge, though.

absolutely no idea how one would sound with tv jones pickups, though, i've never tried them...
