my guess is that it cant be called tortex unless it comes direct from dunlop

just noticed something, my tortex versions of big stubby picks are smooth and shiny which would back when your guess that tortex is a brand

I've FINALLY got round to getting some ultex picks after eventually locating some in the large triangle size/shape. The largest they do is 1.15, though, and frankly it's WAAAAAY too thin. I will stick with them, though, as they are much harder wearing than my previous pick of choice: the Dunlop stubby triangle (not big stubby), 3.0 mm.

If only they made a 3.0mm ultex pick, then I'd be happy! Preferably with an indentation for grip like the stubby triangles have, too, although the ultex picks aren't too bad for grip. I'm mainly happy that I don't get through all 9 corners of 3 picks in a 40 minute set any more - with a resultant white dust caked over my guitar!!

roo there is an ultex sharp 2mm pick now which might do you if you only use triangles for the extra points

not seen them on sale anywhere yet :(
