lots of fun to muck about with - but it is hard to master.

the thing i like is that my fiance walks past it and strums ( a nice open d chord) then giggles to herself and pushes a lever.

i pretty much do the same but use the steel/slide bar and giggle on different chords

niether of us would claim to be good at it ;)

just go to youtube and type in lapsteel, it is only as complex as you want to make it

This put a big smile on my face (the sun is shining as well, admittedly) - it's what music's all about. We all get so serious about it, and non-musicians kinda don't touch instruments if there's anyone watching...

But every now and then you see something that makes you realise what it means to humans - a while back I watched a two-year-old strum/poke one of my guitars, and this MASSIVE grin came across her face...


(of course, I could be wrong in this case, and your missus was giggling in a "WTF has he made this time?? Plonker - it'll never sell..." kinda way :lol:)
