floyd rose tuning annoyance

Right so, on my Carvin, I've recently noticed that when I have the trem floating, it doesn't stay in tune all that well.

When I block it using the Tremol-no installed in the guitar, it's fine. Though still some problems.

I've stretched the strings, set it up properly, changed the nut to a gotoh nut about a year ago (old one cut into to strings). Could there be a problem with the knife edges or mounting studs?

What's the best way to know? and how should I go about getting it sorted?

It could be anything.

Pinching nut, the trem pivots, spring adjustment, saddles, lubing etc.

You might want to take it to a good tech.

Have a look at the knife edges, and check for signs of wear, and also make sure that the edges and studs are cleaned an lightly lubricated.
