No, the Holy Diver was so perfect for my RR1T (see here for my original post) that I've not even considered anything else.  FWIW, I didn't have the Savage when I first got heavily into the Holy Diver, I had a Mesa Rect-o-verb - much darker, looser, sludgier high gain sound.

In fact, now you come to mention it, the only other pickup I put in any of my other alder/maple neck-thru guitars was a Painkiller in my KV2.  I went straight to Holy Diver in my Charvel 550XL & Jackson SL3 (& love it in those too :)).  I'd actually quite like to get another KV2 or an RR1 to put a Holy Diver in.

A Nailbomb would work.  I found Feline's advice that it sounds best in bright guitars to be very true - it sounds far better in my bolt-on DK2M & Warmoth alder strat than it did in my Les Paul or PRS.  However, I just don't like it as much as the Holy Diver, not that I dislike it, but I find the Holy Diver better in almost every way.  Personal preference I guess, YMMV...
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

doubleshotmusic: since I hardly have any experience, with different pickups; I really wouldn't want to try to be smart.
My opinion would not be worth 0.02 cents.
Anyway after trying the Nailbomb, Holydiver and the stock Jb with my bands, I ended up ordering a Holydiver.

Have you tried one of the BK pickups?

No I've never tried any BKP pickups.  I think your right on the holydiver.  That's what I think I'll probably go with.
