Modding Pickup Lugs
« on: August 14, 2010, 03:10:41 PM »
Has anyone modded the lugs on a BKP humbucker ?

I have lost patience with the Aldrich set in my Suhr, I have a HD set but the lugs are square and I need triangular as the suhr is top mounted.

I'm sure it's not a big job but I am a bit worried I may screw it up and end up with a set of useless BKP's....

cheers

yeah, just carefully trim them down.   worst that can happen is you break it - but even if that happens tim will put a new base on for a very reasonable price

if you are carefull you wont have problems

i usually snip till close, then cover the p-up with masking tape before filing it neater.. then clean all the metal bits off the tape before removing it

I've done exactly the same - not difficult at all and turns out fine.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
