This is what I'm thinking.

Crawler

Master volume
Master tone
5-way switch (normal strat positions 1.neck - 2.neck&middle - 3.middle etc.)
on-on DPDT switch to split the crawler.

I have no idea of what caps to use, or how to wire this thing.

I would appreciate help!

Not sure how good you are with electronics, but this diagram will work for standard strat HSS, for the split, wire the two wires that are usually taped together (not sure of the colour, I only use two conductor) to the center lug, and wire a connection to ground to one side, that's it, you could use a spdt for this if you like.
