Took my gear over to my drummer friend's house last night, and jammed for about 4 hours :) :) :) Finally, to say the least, I got to crank my amp with the Miracle Man's.

OH. MY. I was just blown away by how much better I sounded with these pups. I really got much MUCH closer to that sound I was looking for. Much more saturation, tightness, fullness, and tight thump. Also, I wasn't getting that DEADLY amount of treble out of my Quick Rod like I always got before. Not knocking the Rod, because it's the best amp out there, but I just think it can be finnicky with super bright, upper mid-heavy pups like the Suhr Aldrich's.

I liked that I'm getting about the same note definition with the MM's. It's like the sound is thicker and much tighter, but I can still hear the individual notes. It's hard to explain it, and I've never changed pick-ups in a guitar and got this drastic of results. What REALLY surprised me is that it seems like I was actually even getting better cleans. Also worth noting that, with a drummer in the mix, it seemed like I wound up having to set EVERYTHING (except volume and gain :D ) to about 12:00, and voila! I even set the presence/treble a tad higher and no ice-picky sound!!!

My negative criticisms would be that I can tell these pups won't cut as much as the Aldrich's. That's probably, in reality, a very good thing though, because I don't seem to be getting that piercing high end like I was getting with the Aldrich's.

Did I mention how much better the zebra coils look!!??

And poor Yngwie guitar... As excited as I am about it, I played it for a few songs, and it was pretty cool. Wasn't gelling with it playing with a drummer yet, but it needs more setting up to get perfect... BUT once I pulled out the Suhr with the MM's I just couldn't put it down! Maybe the YJM will have a BareKnuckle day one day

Cool!

Yeah, the quickrod is upper-mid voiced so the MMs (low mids) must be a hell of a good match. They might not cut as much but they must surely fill the band spectrum better.

I think the MM will suit me best. Tight, defined, full and deep. Cool for Thrash up to Exodus-Overkill-Testament and some In Flames.

I'm gonna pair it with Trilogies middle and neck for YJM/Blackmore tones and be set!

Although it will be a while before I get a new guitar, I was actually thinking about trying out this set up... Then I started thinking how much I want to try a Calibrated Ceramic Nail Bomb set in my next guitar  PDT_003 PDT_002 PDT_004 PDT_005 :band4:

Thought it was odd when I looked at the H/S/S sets on the site the other day, and noticed that they sell the Miracle Man Bridge bunched with the Trilogy Suite Middle/Neck... Seems like, judging from the name alone, these would not mesh well.

What about the Ceramic Nail Bomb with mid/neck Sinners?

Holy Diver with mid/neck Trilogy Suites?

Anyone try these sets out? Seems like, based on what I hear around here, these both these sets would gel better than the MM/TS set they sell as a package here... Hmmm...

If you see the regular Trilogy set is 15K/11K/11K. With the MM Tim winds the Trilogies to match it (around 13K).;)

It is almost a good idea to complement your sound in the spectrum.

I bought a painkiller for exactly this reason. I play a diezel Herbert which has tons of bass, but is not that pronounced in the higher mids. With the painkiller - perfect combination

I have a Holy diver bridge / Trilogy suite neck in my alder body/maple top and rosewood/maple necked strat. I still have the Irish tour in the middle, which was in the guitar originally when I got it.

TS and Holy diver go very well together!

This post ^ caused me a bit of concern 3 days ago as I was just about to order a pair of Trilogy neck & middle to go with my MM.

So I wrote Tim and asked him if I simply ordered a Trilogy neck &/or middle, would they be wound 11K or 13K?  He responded "I've been winding them @ 12.5K for the last five years".

Sorted

(FWIW, I ordered a pair 2 days ago, and they already shipped 1 day ago, how's that for BKP's holiday service!  I'm excited)  :D

I emailed you back man. Yes, I would say that the MM is very well suited for the melodic death metal sound.
