Neck Lead
« on: March 05, 2011, 12:23:33 AM »
I was hoping someone could suggest a real crunchy bridge (I'm leaning toward a painkiller) but more importantly a real bright whirly? glassy neck pickup to do overdrive leads on.  Sound ala Between the Buried and Me's sweep work.

THanks!

Cold sweat neck all the way! If the bridge is mainly for riffing I'd say miracle man but if you'ree doing lead work there too, nailbomb or painkiller

Awesome!  Thanks for the info! I'm putting them in an Ibanez S570B.  Anyone know if I'll have to change the pots, etc?

no need to change the pots... just a thing... cold sweat should work very, VERY well in your S, but beware of the bridge painkiller! it boosts the native high mid spike of the S and the result is truly unbearable unless you play "djent" stuff in low tunings. i'd go for a bridge nailbomb, it sounds awesome in the S.
