Depends what it's on, Dave.  I don't think it would suit my McCarty Korina, although the pickups themselves would be ideal.

I do want some gold-poled pickups for my Washburn, but I think Emeralds might be a bit too hot for a semi?  Not sure if the 53mm bridge spacing would match either.

They're not that hot actually Phil.  As they use the smaller 43AWG wire (rather than the PAF-style 42AWG) the DC resistance is higher but output and feel is very PAF-like.  I've found them to be like a smoother PAF, slightly less raw and ragged.

The 'net seems to suggest 43AWG * 0.75 = 42AWG 'power', so the Emerald is a smoother 9k-ish PAF and that's what it feels like...
