got home early and plugged in again :)

this time i went for a strat.  well, a G&L Legacy (a good strat :) )

wow!  this is a high gain amp that actually lets the sound of the guitar come through, great!  and now i've found the clean (ish) sound!  the volume control on the G&L works just as i'd want.  sounds fabulous.  i'm actually happier with these tones than with the Les Paul and Explorer.  surprised me

I really, really want to try one of these. They sound like they'd be almost perfect, I just can't get past the fact that they've got the Slash name and sig on it. Are they going to be be unlimited like the Kerry King head?

afraid not, a limited edition of 2300.  as far as i can tell, they're pretty much all gone now.  they've just unveiled the "collector's edition", which is 100 or 200, i can't remember which, with a mirror finish front panel and snakeskin pattern tolex (still black), and a couple of extra goodies, including a back panel signed by Slash.  they're £2000!  and chances are they're already sold.  there are a few on ebay, and they seem to be going for about the list price still.

Sounds like a winner, glad you're enjoying it.... but then what's not to enjoy!  :D
