holy diver + sg = wrong

That's why I qualified my statement above.

I believe the Cold Sweat set would be a good choice for the SG and would provide a suitable tone for the style but it would be far brighter than Mikko's tone.

If it's a thick, dark tone, anyone suggested Warpig?  Nothing wrong with that in an SG.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Good and popular SG choices are

Riff Raff
Cold Sweat
Miracle Man
Warpig

I use a Black Dog for a big and warm midrange; before that I had a Miracle Man in my SG and I loved it as well.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Warpig is too much for what I want.

For the bridge I want a crunchy old school sound for distortion/high gain and fuzz. But I also would like a modern edge to it.

For the neck humbucker would have to be a classic warm tone that could handle some gain, but doesn't comprimise on sounding percussive.

That's the Cold Sweat bridge.

That's either the Cold Sweat neck or the Holydiver neck, the former being the stronger of the two.

If you want a strong contrast between the bridge and neck humbuckers go for the Cold Sweat set.

If you want the pickups to show roughly equal amounts of highs, go Cold Sweat bridge/Holydiver neck.

Can't disagree with that.  I really don't think there's a better hotter-than-vintage set for an SG than the Cold Sweats.

Still don't know if they'll give you the sound of Kimmo or Mikko or whatever his name is, but I don't think chasing a tone by using similar gear ever really works.

Has anyone got a video/clips to what the cold seats sound link in the bridge of an SG?

I can't find anything online and in this instance the clips on the main site aren't a massive help (Although sounding awesome!)

How does the Cold sweat compare to the WB Habaneros?

The Habaneros are a brilliant rich clean tone (I bought the guitar by the way!). But they can't handle much gain. So it is likely that I will now replace them. The hunt is officially on!

So going with what I have said above (Bridge= can handle high gain with a classic sound with modern twist/ and crunchy with dirt! Neck = Something that isn't bland/has character and is very 'shimmery' that can also handle some high gain/works well with the bridge. Perhaps shimmery is not the word, nice clean sound with accentuated string definition.).

I am also open to coil tap as well since that is what this SG currently has this option and I am liking it!

Help please?

Bump. Help wanted. It may be between a Nailbomb set or SH5/SH2. I'd prefer bareknuckles, but I am unsure.

Well, I've also liked having a War Pig in my SG, so there's always that :)

I have heard the Warpigs are great in SGs', but I think that might be a bit too Brutal for what I want.

Might go with C-bomb (bridge) and Abomb (neck). It is a shame there are no clips of what this sounds like. IF I do go with this set up perhaps I could post some vids on youtube or something.
