Hi guys!
I was looking into switching my stock PRS Dragon 2 (PRS Custom 22) pickups with the BKP one.
After some research I'm considering to get the Rebel Yell set, Cold Sweat or a ..! Mule :)

Some of the favorite sounds of mine is Arch Enemy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHvIXDWMzgo
A "wall of sound" riffs and a clear and signing solos.

I hear low output pickups sound good with low tunings (B-C) and are not as muddy. Anyone tried the Mule with high-gain metal styles in low tunings? I assume any modern sounding amp can drive the hell out of this pups and make them scream.

For very low tunings with high gain, the wisdom is generally to go with contemporary ceramic pickups, though if you prefer Alnico V pickups, I think the A-Bomb could probably do it. Other than that I'd say look at Black Hawks, Cold Sweats, Aftermaths, C-Bomb and Miracle Man. I'm not really familiar that much with Arch Enemy as it's not really my thing but I'd say either the Black Hawks or Aftermaths might be the best place to start.
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

I myself am not quite sure how well a Mule could handle tunings like B or C, but I love the sound of low output pickups with hi gain, I think it has this extremely awesome openess you rarely get with songs in that range.

Thanks to all of you guys!
Slartibartfarst42 Thanks man! I know Bombs or Cold Sweat will do the job well, however I'm somewhat excited about the low-middle output pickups in hi-gain modern heavy music. I think it will add some special vibe to the tone.
Telerocker I have heard his clips - he is awesome, also I found another clip of him on soundcloud with a Bernie Rico guitar and a BK Black Dog pups - sound awesome too! http://soundcloud.com/nolly/fat-metal-mixtest
allstar100595 Do you know any clips/recordings/or bands that do that kinda thing? Just want to listen to it a bit more :)

definitely between alnico nailbomb and holy diver for arch enemy
unless you have a massive farty amp, like a rectifier or triamp, but a tube screamer still would save the day
classic arch enemy tone is Michael's duncan JB and Christopher's stock caparison PH-R (both alnico 5) and tube screamer into peavey amps
the emerald has similar specs to the PH-R, but might be in the stock dragon II tone ballpark

I love how low output BKPs sound under heavy gain, but I wouldn't go lower than that for this type of tone and gain texture
a boosted riff raff does arch enemy like a champ in a gibson or PRS, but doesn't sound like arch enemy

search for some other low output pickup metal lovers and check how you like their tones...
what converted me was Jon Schaffer's BKP and WCR tones on Framing Armageddon and The Crucible Man albums
he used a couple hotter models like the holy diver, maybe a nailbomb here and there, but it's mostly PAF oriented pickups around 8k-10k
