I might be able to help you out a bit. A while ago, I got a MM7 for my BC Rich. When I installed it and played with it, it didn't seem like it was pushing my amp as hard as my other, lower output pickups. I took it to a tech, asked the forum, etc. Everything was wired cleanly and the general consensus was that BKPs just seem to be lower output because of less compression. I feel like you've probably been around the forum enough to have heard that before (but on the off chance you haven't, there it is). The flip side to that is that I installed a PK into my Les Paul and it screams hotter than any other pickup I've played. From what I've read, the Black Hawk's output is pretty comparable to the MM and the PK or possibly hotter (they do say it has the power of an active). I'd say if you have a MM and like the way that feels, then the Black Hawk is definitely worth a shot. I'd think it's pretty safe to say you'd like it. And, if not, BKP does have that nice return policy.
