Is this wiring configuration possible?
« on: April 24, 2007, 03:50:42 PM »
Nothing radically different, but assuming a regular Strat setup of three singlecoil pickups, a 5-way switch and the usual 1V/2T controls:

Position 1: Bridge
Position 2: Bridge + Middle
Position 3: Bridge + Neck
Position 4: Neck + Middle
Position 5: Neck

See, nothing major... just that position 3 is both the bridge and neck instead of the middle.

Cheers chaps and chapesses.

I don't think you can do that with a regular five way and single pickup leads.  You'd need to split your middle pickup lead with a 'Y' piece or similar I think?

yeah just an on/off so can have
position 1:Bridge
position 2:Bridge + Middle
position 3:Middle
position 4:middle + Neck (or all three with switch)
position 5:Neck (or with switch neck and bridge)

can't remember why didn't do other way around..but works for me

As an alternative to an extra mini-switch, you could replace one of the pots with a push/pull pot which you can use to add the bridge (or neck) pickup to whatever's selected on the 5-way switch.

So as sgmypod said, you get 7 selections, the 5 standard ones plus bridge+neck, or all 3.

The megaswitch E model gives that exact wiring.  It is made by Schaller, Stewart MacDonald sell it in the US.
So many pickups, so little time
