It's not easy to choose Bare Knuckle Pickups for a Les Paul.

nah
it's easy cause any BK will sound great enough to be called "right pickup for a les paul"  :P
the difficult part is to choose what characteristics do you prefer in a pickup
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

Hey 808...you can try our LP with RYs, it was set up at Rs Guitarworks, by the guys themselves , as I hadn't been able to find a reliable tech. around here . That way you get your hands first on the real thing.
That sounds like a plan Bro!!

That would give me a chance to compare the RYs and Mules! 8)

The Mules are great, but so are the Rebel Yells.

If you want a more cleaner, brighter, defined sound but still very punchy go for the Rebel Yells. They cut trough the mix definately.

More classic LP sound and lower output...go for the Mules.
I'm torn between getting another set of Mules or going with the Rebel Yells.

RY + LP = TONS of tonal variance with volume knob! I tell you, I've never been able to get so many tones out of my guitar with just adjusting the volume knob, the RY aacentuates each turn! It's almost like stepping on channel selects!

have had Mules in my Les Paul for the classic LP sound, but they sounded too bassy in this guitar.
...So surprising ! With my PRS Custom ,the Mules are so bright and clear...I found them too bright at first ! :?

Yeah...it is a little bit 'suprising' indeed.
