What do yoyu think of the sound? Can they cover a wide range of styles? Can you still get a good classic LP sound if playing older styles like blues/rock?

We were just playing the Les Paul this weekend, all I can tell you is how articulate, and versatile the instrument has been transformed with these pickups, from the bottom  to mids to highs, they show perfect balance  . Best word to describe them  is complex. We get the best compliments on the tone. It can cover pretty much any style of music with an edge :)

Thanks for the reply.
I've thought about this for a long time and want to get it right when I change the pups in my Les Paul.
Hearing the rave reviews on all the BKP products on this site just confuses you as to what pups to go for.

I have a rebel yell in the bridge of my LP std, honestly, I think it's perfect, I will never change it (I have a cold sweat in the neck which is good but the RY bridge has some kind of voodoo in it, it's that good)

I'm gonna try my bridge Rebel Yell in my Les Paul some time, I think I might prefer the sound, it'll probably sound a bit better in the Epiphone than Mules, as they dont have a maple cap, so need a bit more brightness from the pickup, perhaps.

Yeah, they'll sound different in different woods.

How do they compare to the burstbucker pros? I've gotta say I can't imagine my LP sounding much better than it does already, but if the RYs are a significant improvement I may have to consider some! Anyone got any clips?

So trust your ears...is it better than the burstbucker pros clean?

I have a set of Mules in my LP Classic. I just put an upgrade kit on my git. It brightened up the neck pup which I found was too bassy with the 300k pot. I have a 500k pot and .015 cap. I stayed with 300k but a .022 cap for the bridge. I found the bridge was bright enough with 300k.

I want to go with RYs on my Standard.

I have 4x 500K pots in the LP Standard with RY's. It works fantastic!
Steve Stevens always uses 500K pots in his les paul...also for the bridge.
In my opinion 300K pots in a LP makes the guitar sound too dark and lifeless. It will not work properly with the Mules for sure. It's not a good thing changing pot values for having a better sound....it must be good right out of the box with 4x 500K pots.

I've used 300K volume pots in LP's for a long time, but it's too semi- acoustic sounding and I had always problems to balance the pickups especially with lower output very warm sounding pickups like the Mules.

Change al your pots to 4x 500K CTS, 2x 0.22 caps and go for the Rebel Yells!! You'll get a beautiful LP sound. Warm, punchy, clear and GREAT BALANCE!
You're not making it easier on me having to wait for another set of BKs! LOL

I put a RS Guitarworks Treble tamer kit on my LP. It sounds great!

Hey 808...you can try our LP with RYs, it was set up at Rs Guitarworks, by the guys themselves , as I hadn't been able to find a reliable tech. around here . That way you get your hands first on the real thing.
