I'm gonna try my bridge Rebel Yell in my Les Paul some time, I think I might prefer the sound, it'll probably sound a bit better in the Epiphone than Mules, as they dont have a maple cap, so need a bit more brightness from the pickup, perhaps.
How do they compare to the burstbucker pros? I've gotta say I can't imagine my LP sounding much better than it does already, but if the RYs are a significant improvement I may have to consider some! Anyone got any clips?
I have a set of Mules in my LP Classic. I just put an upgrade kit on my git. It brightened up the neck pup which I found was too bassy with the 300k pot. I have a 500k pot and .015 cap. I stayed with 300k but a .022 cap for the bridge. I found the bridge was bright enough with 300k.I want to go with RYs on my Standard.

It works fantastic!Steve Stevens always uses 500K pots in his les paul...also for the bridge. In my opinion 300K pots in a LP makes the guitar sound too dark and lifeless. It will not work properly with the Mules for sure. It's not a good thing changing pot values for having a better sound....it must be good right out of the box with 4x 500K pots.I've used 300K volume pots in LP's for a long time, but it's too semi- acoustic sounding and I had always problems to balance the pickups especially with lower output very warm sounding pickups like the Mules. Change al your pots to 4x 500K CTS, 2x 0.22 caps and go for the Rebel Yells!! You'll get a beautiful LP sound. Warm, punchy, clear and GREAT BALANCE!
