I went literally blind once after drinking - for a minute I couldn't see a thing, but I could still feel and hear properly. This probably makes me sound like the world's biggest pisshead, but that isn't really true (pauses to sip Chianti). Anyone else had this happen to them? It's quite worrying...

Yep, happened to me too! When I first saw this thread I though it was about this very topic!

I was blind for about 30 minutes. Apparently you're supposed to keep drinking to get through it ... something to do with alcohol posioning and imbalances. Anyway, a few guinesses later and I was fine.

I personally blame the 'scrumpy' I had been drinking which we got from a Cornish farm ... I have a strong suspicion it was actually Apple Juice and Meths.

Yes! That's what I was drinking - cider c--ktails. Basically strong scrumpy mixed with other ingredients like champagne and ... er ... mead, I think. Absolutely lethal.

Also, I couldn't continue drinking because this happened about an hour after I'd stopped. I was on my way back to the University and I was getting more and more inebriated!
