Edit: oh, and abraxis neck would be a really good one for you (if my understanding that its basically the same as the crawler is correct). Its got great cleans and gritty rock tones, with enough power and mid push to shred cheerfully if you so require.

According to Tim's comment to Octavio on this thread, the Crawler and Abraxas neck pickups aren't the same after all, they're both AIV but the Crawler is a little hotter.

Seems the specs have changed, as there are definitely older comments on the forum indicating that the two pickups were the same.  I have both, but haven't got my Crawlers wired in yet.

Thanks phil!

That ends me talking about abraxises (abraxii?) then! I only had the crawlers.

When I got my Crawler set in early 2006, Tim said they were the same (the Crawler and Abraxas bridges -- but this does appears to have changed.  I wonder if this means I should relabel my clips to say they're Crawler bridge's and Abraxas necks, since I guess my neck isn't like a current Crawler neck but is like a current Abraxas? Or maybe the Crawler neck stayed the same and the Abraxas neck changed ....?

Clearly, the site need stats on the current neck pups in calibrated sets!!!

Still, all that aside, I'd think a (current) Crawler neck would be a pretty good choice at keeping up with a higher gain bridge while still providing those Santana/Slash-style vibes.
