I've only played the D-Sonic, not the Warpig, but I'd bet my ass from what I'm reading/hearing about the Warpig that those two pickups sounds totally different!

The Warpig apparently has a huge bottom end and a lot of warmth to its sound, also it should be quite dark (am I correct there?).
The D-Sonic is kind of the opposite, the bottom end is very tight and it has a lot of presence and is not dark at all. It also has a quite interesting clean sound.

That said, I really think only one of them would sound good in any given guitar - because one is either too dark and the other too bright. So you first need to find out more what your guitar really needs.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

I've played some Duncan and DiMarzio pickups I've liked, but BKP have all been in a different class.

I've also tried some other 'boutique' stuff like Fralin, WCR, High Order and some pickups wound by a guy on the LPF which he simply calls Timbuckers (he's called Tim too).  They had a definate PAF voice, but on the hotter side.

I like my Mules better, but purely because the Mules evoke the sounds I've heard on those old records I love so much and no other PAF repro does that for me.

My warpigs are excellent. Absolutely everything I had hoped for. I only bought them as I was so impressed with my miracle men set and now BKP's all the way.

I have had VHII's in a Les Paul before and I really did not like those or the guitar for that matter.

I'd go for the Warpigs and if you don't like them you can sell them fairly easily on flea bay and then try our dimarzios.

The ceramic warpig has a tighter bottom end than the alnico one if that helps
