Problem with my Laney

Hey guys. For some reason I'm not getting any sound out of my Laney VH100R. All the leads and connections are fine. But when I twiddle with the lead in the input it sounds like I'm messing with a kill switch. I've tried different leads, different guitars but the problem persists.

The valves look fine to me. What else could it be?

Could be a fault with the input jack, or a loose connection to it. Is it the same on both channels? That could rule out it being a problem with the master volume.

Amps are funny creatures, i guess  :wink: . I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless you gig with it of course.

I don't just yet. I only use it for rehearsals. Luckily I have a back up plan if the amp decides to die on me. It's due for a revalve soon so I'll get the tech to give it a check over.

It could be an issue with FX send/return jacks. A quite often fault in guitar amps. Next time if it happens try to patch FX loop with a short jack lead. Remember there is actually a few FX loops in the VH100, so try all of them.

exactly what I was about to suggest.  you could get the jack sockets replaced (fairly expensive if you have to pay for someone to do this) or just put a short patch lead between the send/return and that will sort it out (assuming this is the problem of course)
