Pedal screaming - ?
« on: March 31, 2008, 09:49:27 PM »
Well, thought I'd post this in here as it'll get more replies.. hopefully!

Basically, my DD3 screams like anything whenever I use the adapter. It's not a Boss one, so maybe this is the cause?

Also, it screams when its not in use,and gets higher when it's on.  :?

Are you trying to tell us that the pedal is fine when you use a battery ?

CHeck that the adapter is a "regulated" one. It doesn't need to be a Boss unit. Just needs to be 9V, able to supply enough mA's to supply the total of whatever pedals you are using it to power (the DD-3 alone needs at least 65mA), also needs to state that it is a regulated power supply. Also needs to be an "internal negative" connection to the pedal.

I think your pedal has a tiny Warlock trapped inside, what you're hearing are his cries for help.

Kind of related, not deserving its own thread, and since this problem is pretty much solved.
Do digi delays self oscilate?
I think I have heard in reviews that analog can make a screamy noise when turned off, but could it be that?
