The other consideration is strin gauge. If you're using a baritone (which you're not), or exceptionally thick strings (again, probably not?), then you can get away with hotter pickups. Warpigs will hit you amp hard, but if you've got really thick strings, you'll end up with too much signal and things will get mushy. For standard gauges, you should be fine :)

ok, well what do you consider thick strings? i forget the exact gauges, but i'm going to switch to the D'addario (sp?) light top heavy bottoms on that guitar. standard tuning. my miracle man sounds fine in my V with the high gain, but then again i've never heard a lower output BKP at all, let alone through my amp, so i don't really have anything to compare to.

Standard tuning on a normal scale length = don't worry about string gauges! :)

That's one less thing to worry about!

ok, so a warpig should sound just fine through a whole bunch of gain? thats what i was assuming, since i play my miracle man w/ tons of gain, but i wasn't sure how much more output the warpig put out.

I didn't find the regular alnico warpig higher output than the miracle man and painkiller
just a bit fatter sounding and more compressed, but the others sounded way hotter

ok, thanks for the help guys. i guess it'll be a warpig. does anyone know how much extra it'll cost for me to get a spare pickup cover? i want one of those new black ones to go on the bridge pup on my xr-1.
