Yep I find that to be the problem, no one seems to be serious about it and if they are, then they're into shiteee music  :x I'm considering jamming with this br00talz band for a bit though just to get into playing with other musicians again.
yeah, i always wonder whether i'd rather be in a band regardless of the music, or whether i'd rather be in no band... i think i'd rather be in no band, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to compromise a bit- i wouldn't have a problem being in a band which played classic rock, or blues rock (considering my favourite music seems to be 80s rock and metal), but i'd draw the line at indie and alternative... apart from anything, i can't really seem to play that style of music properly, it doesn't really come naturally to me... so to add insult to injury, as well as playing music i didn't like, i'd have to practice like mad to play it too...
It's not just the drinking Dave, it's the inability to realise that they're in their 40's not there 20's anymore, so its pills and powder too not too mention the constant joints and fags. You get to the point where not communicating 'cos they're so out of it. Frustration is the theme for most of these rehearsals. The thing is though they can do it when they're reasonably sober! So yes i do get a massive buzz off it. Especially when all the amps are cranked, there is nothing else like it and could get very addicted to it.
yeah, i know what you mean. i'm still in my 20s, and drinking all the time/not taking it seriously would annoy me too, i've never much been into getting wasted. :)
