Semi-hollow sounds different then a non-hollow. With the Revtrons you should get in Gretsch-terrority, with the P90's more into the Gibson semi-hollow-range. P90's can produce a thick and often snarly tone, due to the big magnet, but most p90's have also air and bite in the topfrequencies. I had the Yamaha Troy van Leeuwen signature (the 503TvL) - hollowbody, bigsby and three P90's, plus out of phase wiring. Big tones from that one, way bigger then my tele. The revtrons will provide a meaty twang. But if you work with the tonecontrol, you can get all kind of tones out of them. I actually steer my tele with the tonecontrol, rather then the vol.knob. Btw, I believe most Reverends have a basscontourknob, which is quite effective to add or reduce the amount of bass. You can go from thin singlecoil-vibes to thick tones with a twist of the basscontourknob.
I think you should first make up your mind which tones really appeal to you, so can make a better decision about the pickups.

Thanks man, well tbh I'm going for any nice tone that is not in the ballpark with my guitars right now. Seems like either would fit nicely between a Humbucker and single coil, especially seeing as this would be my first semi hollow.
But could you explain the difference regardless of guitar between the P90s and MiniHums? Because I've heard many answers that give me an idea but slightly dance around the question a bit
Bite? Lows/mids/highs? Compression? Clean/distorted tones? I guess I want to get an axe to to slightly overdriven cleans, probably bluesy but with more bite (without getting too far into the traditional single coil tone ballpark
Once again, thanks mate

It depends in which guitar. Generally speaking I see minihumbuckers as a leaner, brighter and more focussed pickup thenfull hb's. I like them in the old Gibson Deluxes, but not in every guitar. A good p90 will sound bigger, warmer, but still with the singecoil-vibe, especially in the higher registers.

You can read something about minihumbuckers here:
