Semi-hollow sounds different then a non-hollow. With the Revtrons you should get in Gretsch-terrority, with the P90's more into the Gibson semi-hollow-range. P90's can produce a thick and often snarly tone, due to the big magnet, but most p90's have also air and bite in the topfrequencies. I had the Yamaha Troy van Leeuwen signature (the 503TvL) - hollowbody, bigsby and three P90's, plus out of phase wiring. Big tones from that one, way bigger then my tele. The revtrons will provide a meaty twang. But if you work with the tonecontrol, you can get all kind of tones out of them. I actually steer my tele with the tonecontrol, rather then the vol.knob. Btw, I believe most Reverends have a basscontourknob, which is quite effective to add or reduce the amount of bass. You can go from thin singlecoil-vibes to thick tones with a twist of the basscontourknob.
I think you should first make up your mind which tones really appeal to you, so can make a better decision about the pickups.
