Cheers for all the suggestions, guys.

tomjackson: I'm reluctant to replace the neck as 1. aside from the frets, that's one of the things I like most about this guitar and 2. it seems like if I replace the neck, that's akin to admitting the guitar's not really for me, and if this is the case I may as well sell it on and get something more to my liking.

Ian Price: I had the same issue with my 52 re stickiness of neck, and adopted the same solution. To look at it, you'd have no idea the neck had sandpaper anywhere near it, but in terms of playing it's loads better!

gordiji: I have a Maxon compressor lying around that I had moved out of my setup as it seemed a bit surplus to requirements with the V into the 5150, so I'll give that a go at my next practice with the Tele.

I picked up a 3-way toggle and a .022 capacitor (which he recommended last week) from Jonathan at Feline last weekend; I'll be having a crack at wiring them in this evening, along with the 60s switching conversion; no doubt I'll be in the Tech forum at some point asking for help with where I've gone wrong! After that, it's fiddling with pickups height time; will report back as to how that goes.

Right, I've been mucking about with the wiring and I've got stuck. Help would be much appreciated. As it's a tech matter, I started a thread in the appropriate forum: http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=24707.0
