You're clearly not playing it loud enough :)

I don't feel like the Laney GH really gets much dirtier or less "dry" the louder it goes, it just gets.. louder, much louder

my tone hasn't changed so much as evolved - it's always been similar, I've just managed to nail what I'm looking for in recent years with the help of BKP and another pickup dude.

Eleven years ago I stopped with pointy headstocks as my JEM FP didn't work very nice with a Rivera-amp. I got hooked by the telecaster. I discovered that this guitar is so versatile when you have a good amp and make use of the toneknob. The last five years - mainly bec of the coverband I'm in - I rediscovered strats. HSS-strats, bec of the versality. I became a real single coil-addict. They made me better play. I started to use less gain too. Now I favour the classic, say vintage guitarsounds. My pickups are all vintage(hot), maybe with exception of the Crawler, which has still some PAF-blood. For me vintage(hot) pickups make the tone bloom more. That doesn't mean I cannot enjoy heavy stuff and highoutput pickups. They're just not really for me.

Marry me, we'll have single coil babies together

I will ask my lady
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
