Regarding it being a potentially "racist" issue. Well, it does fall under racial legislation in the UK at least. Religious groups are ethnicities, and ethnicities count as "races" in terms of race-related laws. Whether that should be the case or not is debatable, obviously.

I'm not entirely sure that's true actually, especially as the third sentence isn't accurate. Judaism falls under racial legislation because the religion and the ethnicity are inextricably linked (very difficult to become Jewish if you weren't born Jewish). Other religions fall under the more modern religious hatred laws.

I'm not religious but I do think Muslims especially in the UK are subject to extremely unfair racism controlled by the press to make us think they are 'all terrorists' which is complete nonsense, it sells though and makes them a lot of money but I AINT BUYING IT
