Well if you're referring to the Hondo II, I maintain you shouldn't bother, though I admit I may be biased. A Hondo II was my first ever guitar. It was a natural wood finish and cost me about £60 brand new. To this day I won't buy a natural wood finish guitar and as soon as I could afford it, I upgraded to an Ibanez Rocket Roll II (Flying V). Like all guitars, if you throw enough time, effort and money at it, the instrument can be improved but on a guitar that is so cheap, I can't see the point in fitting a set of pickups that would be worth more than the whole guitar. To my mind, you'd be far better simply upgrading the guitar. Once you've bought a couple of Bare Knuckle pickups, maybe a couple of pots and had it all installed, you're talking at least £250 but I bought my PRS SE Custom 24 for just £100 more than that and even with stock pups, it's vastly superior to a Hondo II. I'd much rather have my PRS stock than a Hondo II with Bare Knuckles in it. BKP are great, but they're not a magic wand. I honestly don't mean to be harsh here but I equally don't want you wasting your money. If you're determined to put new pups in it, get some second hand Seymour Duncans or DiMarzios then at least you've only wasted half as much money but still improved the tone. If you're really determined to throw that much money at it and you want a hot pickup, try a set of Cold Sweats if you want a more classic voicing and Nailbombs if you want something more modern and aggressive.

Thanks Slartibartfarst42. But i wasn't talking about that question and I haven't bought that guitar, I was wondering if I had bought it which pickpus wuild suit it (or just a regular epi lp or gibson or just another guitar with the same wood). I was talking about this
I play mostly metal and I'm looking for that sound you described very well, the "Oopmh" that gutural-like sound. I want to have noticeable punch and output,  a very fat full sound with predominant mid frequencies, tight bass and rounded highs. I also like to use lower tuning like D standard or drop C, sometimes lower than that.   What I'm describing  better? The Warpig or the HD?  How would sound the Warpig on a Ibanez 550 (basswood body, maple neck and fretboard)? I think it would be right cause for me basswood is a bit flat sound, I mean it reflects very well the characteristics of the pickup.   What would be the difference between the Warpig with Alnico V and the Ceramic magnet?

Without a doubt, a full, fat sound with plenty mids is the Holydiver. Mine is in a maple neck-thru and I'm about to put one in a mahogany guitar too as I love it so much so I have no doubt it will work well in basswood, which I always think of as quite a neutral wood. For a more aggressive sound I would normally have thought about an Alnico Nailbomb but I'm not convinced it would suit basswood as it really is an aggressive pickup. I always think an A-Bomb would work better in mahogany. I toyed with getting a Warpig as I wanted to keep the best aspects of the Holydiver but give it a much bigger sound. Both Warpigs will have a significant bass response but the alnico version will have more rounded highs and be more versatile while the ceramic version will be more aggressive and have a tighter bass.
