Well it matters what you want it to do, but THE LP pickup is the Rebel Yell.
Don't be sure about that. Most BKPs work extremely well in LPs and TBH if you want "the LP pickup" you should get The Mule.
It all depends on what you want to play. My Holy Diver sounds absolutely amazing in my LP, as does my Emerald and as do Mules and Riff Raffs and I'm sure that the Rebel Yell sounds absolutely amazing too.
Saying that, I think that either the Holy Divers or the Rebel Yells will fit TS best. As the others said, I think that in this case, the Holy Diver just edges it.
The RY and the HD are made for pretty much the same types of music. At that point it all depends on the characteristics that you want your pickups to have. They'll play exactly the same range of music in the same guitar equally as well.
Holy Diver -
Fluid, smooth, yet aggressive.
Thick and great cleans and coil-split sounds.
Balanced EQ with a slight mid boost but a nice tight and responsive bass and smooth yet very evident highs.
Lots of "Oopmh/Punch".
Rebel Yell -
Slightly less fluid and a bit more aggressive and bitey.
Also quite thick but not as thick. Very good cleans too, i haven't heard them coil tapped.
A bit brighter than the Holy Diver but not as much as brought to believe. Certainly not harsh as long as you get the pickup height and amp setting right.
Similarly punchy.
A bit tighter than the HD but the HD can easily match that with the use of a TubeScreamer. THe HD is still relatively tight.
They are both great at classic rock, hard rock, 80s metal (both are especially good at this), progressive rock and modern metal (high gain amp and tubescreamer needed for this no matter what pickups you have, Lol).
TS just need to choose what characteristics he wants.
Just like most others here though, I'll recommend him the Holy Diver in this case.
Edit: I got confused. If TS is already getting the Holy Diver for his Ibanez then I WOULD get the RY for the LP for added versatility.
