F/x like wah and flange need to be really subtle and I would say to keep it simple- by all means use f/x but does it have to be all one thing or another?

nah, i'm just throwing ideas in to the air, and seeing how people respond to them

i'm not going to say publicly which one i prefer because that might sway the decision

as this is intended to be the first song for my band once i get it going, i want it to have a real impact, that's all

I prefer the flanger for that one, they all sound a bit weak in my opinion though.

Out of those clips i thought flange was the best, but that was out of those clips.
In that kind of style i'd say the wah would be best, i just thought in that particular clip the wah didn't do much for me.

Try a chorus effect, or maybe a chorus effect with the wah.

stick with the flange, the wha is too pornofied and the dry is not exciting enough for me, but then again flange is my favourite effect out the lot. I think it's underused, I personally use the line 6 Liqua-Flange pedal, which is an outstanding pedal, the only snag is, it needs an adaptor. What pedals did you use for the flange and wha???

cheers,

from Ben.

the flange is built-in to my amp (cr@ppy AVT150X) and the wah is built-in to my effects processor (equally cr@ppy AX10G)

:)

thanks for your input

I liked the one with no FX. The others sound a bit like porn music to me.

I may check the amp out, it actually sounds really good for a tranny (transexual) amplifier.

I would be tempted to try a little chorus.

I once had great success using chorus on an otherwise 'clean' Funk backing track. I played the rythmn parts slighty 'chorused' and then the lead part with the chorus off and a creamy sustain on.

If not that, perhaps a touch of compression and /or a touch of very short 'slapback' echo.

Otherwise, I liked 'None' the best. The material stands up in it's own right and needs to be framed not buried !

Regards,

Derek.

Fourth Feline: yeah, will defs try the chorus when i get 30 seconds free time

JJretroetc.. : the AVT is fine, but don't turn it up, the only reason this sounds OK is because the line out is before the power amp, so the horrible solid-state cr@p doesn't screw up the sound, even tho there is still some, because there is only one preamp valve, so there will still be some solid state in there somewhere... the effects on it are kool, but they take some serious tweaking to get them just right, unfortunately mine isn't quite there yet, but hopefully it won't matter, as i am saving for my new amp now neway :D:D:D

PLEXI TOWN HERE I COME (i'll see you there bainzy :P)

cheers for the input guys

[insert "Rain Man" voice]........The wah.....definitely the wah......

I like 70's porn music ---- it helps me pretend I'm younger, thinner, and actually attractive!
