coil split for the dimebucker
« on: January 02, 2007, 11:32:21 AM »
hi all

when i get my warpig for the bridge of my razorback, i will put the dimebucker in the neck.

i would like to coil split it though, and have the control over the splitting on one of the 3 pots: neck volume, bridge volume and a master tone.

i would like to know if you can:

1. use a pot as a coil split switch (push/pull). i know you can buy push pull switches for pots, but can you do it?

2. which pot would i use? the master tone or the neck volume?

thanks!

You'll need a push/pull pot for it to work but there's no reason why it won't.  I'd replace the neck volume pot.

i have another question....

if the dimebucker was coil splitted while the guitar's volume knob is on 3, would it clean up more than before it was split?

thanks

when split it'll have approximately half it's unsplit output, so yes, it'll clean up more.

haha im actually really excited about doing it now because i would love a single coil sound! plus the Dimebucker is bright enough to make it sound even more like a single coil when split!

sorry about that pointless post  :D

ill restrain myself next time
