my top five:
1) Jeff Buckley (realy sweet, melancholy tone, heaps of emotion, amazing range, brilliant musician. only weakness is when he sings live)
2) Matthew Barlow (Iced Earth) (holds it live even with realy extreme stuff, powerfull and passionate voice, extreme range)
3) Phil Anselmo (Pantera) (awesome growl while still classifying as "singing")
4) Ronnie James Dio  (Dio, Rainbow, Black sabbath for a bit) (again, awesome live, very powerfull voice)
5) Tom Waits (if anyone can growl like him i reccomend seeing a throat clinic, you can just hear this man like his fags and whiskey, very few guys with that kinda voice can pull it off!)
Beethoven was a Metalhead! \m/

In no particular order:
Bruce Springsteen
Chris Robinson (lead singer of The Black Crowes...I know I go on about them but he's got the perfect emotive voice for me)
Paul Rodgers, just for his Free years
Robert Plant..like WOW
Gram Parsons
