He guys,

I'm looking for some advice for my Les Paul Standard Faded.

Miracle Man is pretty damn smooth and high gain, Nailbomb and Warpig would be too grinding and attacking i think. Holy Diver maybe but i would go Miracle Man in your case.

Nailbomb and Warpig would probably be a bit too punchy for what you're describing. I have no experience of the Miracle Man, but I have a HD set in a PRS Singlecut, and the bridge pickup is plenty powerful enough, but never harsh. Really sings though.

I beg to differ. I put the nailbomb in my own LP faded, and that really nails what yamhammer is lookin' for. Perhaps, if he needs great pinches, the painkiller or cold sweat.

why everyone is calling miracle man "smooth" these days?
mine was a almost a chainsaw attached to a harley davidson!

the neck mm is very smooth, but i don't hear anything smooth on the bridge pickup
you should order the holy diver :roll:

i bet the miracle man wouldn't sound harsh even in a classical guitar :lol:
i love it!
i had to trade my guitar with the MM set for some amp stuff, but as i soon as i can i'm gonna a buy an original lp custom and another MM set for it
but for a real les paul metal tone, the holy diver is unbeatable
but i really miss the miracle man
it cuts like a double headed battle axe :lol:

In a classical guitar, the MM wouldn't sound very loud at all :P

will you get with the MM sounds like UFO (michael schenker), scorpions (like blackout, love at first sting and their latest album, humanity) and tones like tremonti? In a les paul custom, or actually; a les paul with maple top, korina back and full rosewood neck+fingerboard...

The Miracle Man's smooth but it's a modern sound that you might find narrower than that of the Holy Diver, which is fatter and grainier in comparison. Both are very nice pickups. 8) For the sound you're after I would've rather got a Cold Sweat but that's just my taste. :)

actully the miracle is grainer (and veeery grainy)
the holy diver is more transparent
i miss the grainy low mid grind on the heavier chords i had with the miracle man
i'll get another set as soon as i buy another les paul

i think schenker used low output pickups
maybe some accept.... but wolf hoffmann used dark gibson vees with bright bill lawrences
the miracle man is a lot more powerful and a lot darker than a lawrence
maybe the korina body can balance the brightness

i think the painkiller is closer to tremonti's pickups, cause he used a gibson 500t before his signature model
