Amp/cab question
« on: October 28, 2007, 09:04:24 PM »
This is a dumbass question, but would I encounter any problems hooking say, a Mesa head up to an Engl can?

Cheers for any replies!

No, the thing to look for is impedance matching.

Thanks Mr 38th, much appreciated.

Looking at a Mesa Roadster at the moment, but couldn't see the point in getting a Mesa cab when the Engl one (with the same speakers, made from the same material) was almost half the price.

I'd wager the ENGL cab is better anyways. MESA gear is all about badge nowadays like Gibson guitars are; You can probably get something just as good, if not better, for half the asking price.
Just be sure the speakers are wired the same though as series and parallel wiring have very different effects on impedance.
I too use chicken as a measurement.
