pickup mounting hole screwed up
« on: October 29, 2007, 01:18:44 PM »
In order to fix the Rebel Yells into my Axis I had to screw bigger mounting holes (as Axis pickups are screwed directly into the body).

Now I have an issue if I wanna mount these to a different guitar (with the usual plastic frame, spring method)  as the thread is "screwed up".

What would you do in such a case?

This happened on my mates guitar, all we did was drill out the threaded hole on the leg so it was just a regular hole, then get a small nut/bolt and put the bolt on the underside of the leg, can superglue it if you want. Probably didnt explain that too well so heres an extremely well drawn ms paint sketch showing the general idea.

I've done Tom's trick on a guitar before.  Works great!

Great man, thanks a lot for the painting and the superglue tip!

Soldering the bolt may be an option I guess?

Cheers
