Pickups for Flying V, CWP, MM or PK

So I'm thinking of putting some BKP's in my flying V, its a neck-through body type, maple neck, ebony board and mahogany sides, it also has a floyd rose tremolo (not floating). I play hard rock, metal and shred stuff. I want something huge sounding, but i don't want scooped mids. I'm thinking maybe ceramic warpig, but i do love pinch harmonics so maybe miracle man, and the mids or PK are meant to be nice, so...? What do you guys think? I definitely want a ceramic magnet in the bridge, not sure about neck though.

a miracle man will sound great
if you think you want more mids from the pickup, just do the mid boost trick with an equalizer before the amp (like randy rhoads, dimebag darrell, kerry king, eddie van halen)
they all used pickups with few mids and a huge mid boost before the distortion

I think the painkiller. that one had a lot of grind, thick mids, and good pinches. with a maple neck and ebony fingerboard, a lot of mids arent a luxury, but a neccasaty, in my opinion...the warpig would be great aswell i presume; good pinches aswell.

Welcome to the forum :)

Of the MM & PK (don't have any WPs so can't/won't comment on them), I'd choose PK.

MM would sound good, I don't think it's strictly true that it's "scooped", although it certainly has less mids than the PK.  A good adjective for the MM under high gain would be "smooth".  I just find that the PK is a bit more aggressive & more to my taste (I like mids, my favourite BKP is the Holy Diver...)

Ok, so I'm thinking either Ceramic Warpig or Painkiller for the bridge and Holy Driver or Nailbomb for the neck, what do you guys think. Has anyone got these combinations? (the shoot out was good, and helped, thanks Antag)

Huge sounding, non-sccoped mids, good pinchability

Ceramic Warpig

Its mids are quite even and grinding. Its bass is tight, huge and hammering and the highs scream. Its the best all-out bludgeon/flamethrower metal pickup out there.

CWP sounds like the way to go then. Does the huge bottom end detract from the singing solo ability? I'm the lead guitarist and definitely indulge in some (alot) of solos.

C-pigs leads are clear as a bell. So are the low notes. Its a paradox-pickup: very , very heavy, but perfectly clear. It takes a lot to mud up a C-Pig.

Do you think a CWP bridge and HD neck or a CWP bridge and a A5 WP neck, would be better, I think i'm leaning towards a WP set.

I haven't tried them myself, but a lot of people here rave about cold sweats in the neck position.

Mind you, I never use the neck pickup anyway, so what would I know :D

people don't generally comment that much on the HD neck, I think its low powered(?)
Apparently the CS neck is different to the dirty fingers neck, but my dirty fingers neck is very fluid, and (with comfirmation that the DF neck has similar feel (but not as good as the CS obviously :P) and the fluidness) I would highly recomend it for shred!

The Cold Sweat neck is NOT like Dirty Fingers, because it's influence is John Sykes' LP neck pup, a 70's PAF-style Gibson.

As for the neck pup to go with the CWP, I think War Pig might be the way to go.
