Hey everyone,

I'm getting a Carvin CT6 here pretty soon but i want to get an adam jones tool type tone and i know the best place to start is NOT with carvin pickups =p.

any suggestions?

other stuff im working on is sevendust and chevelle type detuned stuff.

thanks in advance

p.s.

i think it comes setup with one of the coils being splittable?  id check but the carvin site is down right now.  not sure if thats important to know or not but i figured id throw that out there just in case.  again, thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Can't speak from personal experience, but in the past when people have asked about getting a Tool/Adam Jones type of tone the usual model recommended seems to be the Holydiver.  Or possibly the Crawler or (for a slightly brighter tone) Rebel Yell.  The CT6 is quite Les Paul-ish isn't it?

On the coil split thing, all you need to do is make sure you order 4-conductor wiring.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
