New song with Ceramic Warpigs and Painkillers
« on: November 08, 2007, 01:08:38 AM »
www.myspace.com/thesafetyfire

This is a track from my bands upcoming EP. Guitars on the left are painkillers in a Schecter Classic, guitars on the right are ceramic warpigs in my blackmachine.

Guitars are 5150, Krank Rev, or Engl Powerball. I reamped the tracks, and forgot which are which.

Love to know what you guys think of it! The next two tracks will be coming very soon with two guest solos on one of the tracks!

Cheers

That's mad  :o

I like it. Good work, dude, keep it up. Only thing I wasn't too fond of was the vocals. I think it would be a lot better with low-pitch growls rather than metalcore screams.

i concur, the screams don't fit.  The music would have more power with gutturals.  the rest is good as usual.

Hmm... I seem to have heard some of this before... ah, on the Andy Sneap FTP site :D
I have to say this has a kind of Meshuggah meets Mastodon feel (I think I've said that before).
Great playing, super tight tone and amazing mix as always!

Well then it'd just sound like every other generic death metal band or whatever the genres called these days :P

Sounds great dez.

Bloody love it!

I don't agree with the comments on the vocals made above - I think they work nicely! (Check out our band - in my sig, you'll see why!).

Cracking stuff :)

Eh, it's an opinion. And the little twisty guitar melodies is plenty to set them apart. If it was me, I'd rather be lumped with death metal bands than with metalcore.

Like you said, ilyti, it's opinion. I'm not saying my opinion is right and yours is wrong, though!

Variety is the spice of life, and I've nothing against Metalcore. Mainly because I also play in a metalcore band, but hey ho!

I agree, variety is good. And I really don't see how screamy vocals can be called variety in middle of this metalcore trend. Sure this band can do what they find best, I was just saying what I thought would suit the band better.

Cheers for all the comments guys. Much appreciated.

As for all the comments regarding vocals etc, Im not fussed. Im a huge fan of tech bands with high pitched vocals and death metal bands. I don't really want the band to be lumped in with either, but rather people listen to our music and make their minds up from there.

Another track will be up soon, which funnily enough, does have death vocals on it, provide by moi haha

thanks again

I really like it. You can definitely tell the Opeth influence, and thats certianly not a bad thing.

You're making me want a Warpig. And a methulll guitar (read: SG) to put it in. :P
