Warpig coil inductance and resonant frequency
« on: November 12, 2007, 01:29:37 AM »
I'd like to know some electrical specs for this model and would like the makers to confirm some details about it:

Can you confirm if it has 4 wires to allow wiring both single coils in series or parallel?

The impedance figure of 22 K is this with both single coils in series?

For the bridge unit, do you know the resonant fequency?

Do you know the coil inductance of the whole bridge unit or even each single coil.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

You are probably best to speak to Tim directly, this is a forum of people who use the pickups  - he designs and builds them.

Although as you user name is 'pickup artist' it may sound a bit like you are trying to make a copy

Thanks for a poster confirming that 4 output wires are available.

Apologies for giving the impression that I may be attempting to rip-off BK products. I can see why you may have thought that and after posting I did sort of think that the information I want is far too proprietary.

I wanted this information for electronic circuit design purposes, but can't really say anything, otherwise that would be advertising on your forum. So, I won't talk about it anymore as even this is advertising probably.

I'll talk about other things instead

Relax. This forum is quite relaxed about what you can talk about on here. I'm sure Tim would be absolutely happy to help you out if you have any trouble with your pickup project. Your only limit is in blatantly advertising your product as an alternative in order to undermine his product. Tim is perfectly relaxed in my experience when it comes to mentioning other brands on these forums as alternatives to his product so long as it is to recommend a specific pickup to get a certain sound that isn't covered in the BKP product line. As far as I know you haven't done anything against that so you can stay on, regardless of being another pickup maker so long as you don't try to entice people into buying your product over Tim's. Tim would probably be happy to give you access to his materials if you didn't try to screw him over.
Hope that made sense.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Ok thanks,  I'm not designing pups, but ......

I'd like to commend this company though on choosing a better name than 'Invader'.  Atleast some people might realise that the term Warpig stems from the local military butchers.

please note the    in my response.  It was more a subtle attempt at humour which i realise never comes across well on the internet.

my original advice still stands though - Speak to Tim, he has the answers and is nearly always friendly   (again a subtle attempt at humour indicated by a wink)

anyway, there are lots of us around here that post things that may come across as advertising to some and it is usually welcome.  I suppose i am just as guilty of that as i have gained customers from posting my guitars on this forum - intentionally or not.  If you do have specific items to sell you can request membership of the seconds out usergroup to post those.  if you just want to talk about what you are working on and gain opinions it can go in the appropriate section of the forum.
