Calibrated Set - VHII- wiring options?

Got a set of calibrated VHII's a while back and need to start looking at wiring options.

The guitar hasn't been put together yet and the sky's the limit, really.

My first thought is this:

5 way switch - One volume knob - no tone knob.

position 1: bridge humbucker
position 2: bridge humbucker coil tapped ( or split )
position 3: whatever it is they do for Les Pauls in the middle position.
position 4: neck humbucker tapped (north coil, I think)
position 5: neck humbucker


Can someone tell me where I can find a diagram for this?

Other ideas?

Have another strat type guitar (HSS) and only use the 1st, 4th and 5th position on the switch really.

I like the wiring of the Fender Double Fat Strat.  It's not quite what you described - instead of the split bridge pickup in position 2, you get the inner coils of both bridge and neck:

You need a double-pole 5-way switch, and the guitar has tone controls but it's easy to exclude them.  I think one of the pickups needs to have a "flipped" magnet, PRS style, for position 2 to be hum-cancelling.  And the diagram uses Duncan colour coding, you'd need to convert to BKP.


For a less complex wiring scheme, StewMac have Schaller Megaswitches - the "E" model gives splits in positions 2 and 4, and the outer coils in position 3.  The "P" model gives the same wiring combinations as a PRS rotary switch, which is quite a neat trick:
