slight feelings of guilt here too

i've wanted a USA Dean for ages... so why did I buy this Chinese Hamer Vector... oh well - its quite nice anyway ;) (and it was only 160 quid - 300 new)

alder body, maple veneer - quite nice woods in fact - better than usual chinese fare. woodworking is top notch. great inlays, above average binding.

tuners are ok, rubbish strings... i changed them instantly for feline and the tonal improvement was embrassingly noticeable.

laughable electrics, but the duncan designed pickups aren't actually that bad. in a better world i'd fit double creme rebel yells or cold sweats. in fact i think (know) its going be dimarzios. the orginal plan was to stick in indysmiths JB, but we had a bit of a mix up. i've got a 70s super distortion, paf pro on order for the neck... i know, i know, sorry all - wasn't expecting to be buying this one.

already put in CTS/sprague electrics, i believe the difference is noticable, not as much as i was expecting though. never changed the electrics and not the pickups at the same time.

its in a similar league to epiphone, nothing to do with the amazing hamer vectors of the 70s and 80s. was i a fool to buy this... maybe, maybe not. but its too late now - 6.5 flying Vs

feel better seeing approving comments :)

i recently brought a greco V, and it plays like butter... theres only 2 guitars i've tried that i liked more than that - PhilKing's unpotted Stormy Monday 355 and a Feline Lion.

sort of feeling like I dont need any more mid-range guitars, its an effort to pimp them ;) might sell this one... not sure.

thoughts turning to some sort of custom rather than the dean
