Hi All

I am now on the verge of ordering what I hope will be my own little dream MIJ Les Paul, an Edwards 130 relic in Lemon Drop...although I may tip towards Vintage Burst but thats another tale. However when I requested info from Ikebe I got the following response:

"Thank you for your inquiry again. We can sell to overseas.
However, We became to be unable to sell the ESP/Edwards guitar, bass, and
Second-hands now. Please understand our situation."

I know this was mentioned in another thread that maybe Edwards would be unavailable outside Japan so i thought I would add this as a new thread to highlight it.

Ishibashi however are still happy to send me one thank goodness :)

K

I guess they got pressure from ESP who got pressure from Gibson.

If this is serious it might affect other japanese retailers too and they might get scarce.

Does this mean you like Edwards guitars ?

This is a serious question.  In future, English will suffice.

Of course it means I like them! They're affordable, gorgeous and every bit as good (if not better) than their tripley-overpriced namebrand cousins.

If it is Gibson-driven, I wonder if it'll apply to the non-Gibson style guitars?  I suppose it's easier to apply a blanket ban on all Edwards exports.  Bugger.  :(

Still, plenty at Ishibashi and on eBay - for now.

I have tried an edwards some time ago, bit it was not THAT much cheaper then the gibson i bought.

Well I have an Edwards reliced Page signature model, which is just around 5,000 EUR cheaper than the Gibson ...

At least I can try it out first a bit before I buy the real thing  :P

Ah ok, well i dont think many players will buy the gibson JP signature, they are more a collector thing i think. The old gibsons i buy are mostly player guitars who have some kind of small and easy fixable problem(otherwise i dont buy them), so i get a great deal on them. I am hooked on those oldies tho

Im getting kind of worried about the amount of DIY fakes that seem to be everywhere nowadays.
