Pedalboard-powered lights?
« on: November 30, 2007, 08:37:52 AM »
You know how sometimes you see little lights on pedalboards, the sort of "snake" type ones with a bendy flex? Does anyone know if you can buy any of them that are powered with a standard "Boss-type" power supply? Ie, it'd plug straight into my Diago PSU as if it were a separate pedal?

Ta.

You can get those for the sigaret lighter of a car, then they are 12 volts and need the appropriate adapter. So if you have a 12V output that would be good. Maybe they have 9V lamps for such lights.

Anyway, you can buy them in car-accessory(sp?) shops, they are used for map reading.

Alternatively you could just put a lights rope around your board, so close to christmas you can buy them everywhere and they work on normal net voltage. They are also waterproof mostly. Would light up your entire board in one go! Dont know if that would cause interference on the net youre using though.....

Got it, runs off three AAA batteries and my GOD it's bright! Not an overpowering glow, it's quite a warm, dull-blue light but it covers a pretty big area. Most impressed.  8)

Get a little powered USB hub with a wall wart power supply and mount that on your board.  Then get a couple of plug in USB lights.  Bob's your uncle!
