I just bought BSO's new dvd....One Rockin' Night.

It was filmed in 1995 and it was the first time the band was filmed live. Brian definitely had something to prove cause he plays his fingers off.

I highly recommend purchasing this dvd!

I can enthusiastically agree ! I bought his " Live In Japan" DVD and " Dirty Boogie " CD - and didn't stop grinning for days !  :D

Brian is a clever man who makes it look far too easy and fun to be a real job

I have his Hot Licks video. I learned a lick he shows to play over a 9th chord. The notes are easy but the swing feel makes it a little difficult to play.

+1 to the BSO DVD's. And it's about time to put in the Christmas Extravanza disc in the player.

If you dig Brian's playing, you should also get the Rumble In Brixton DVD (Stray Cats reunion tour).

808 loaned me the aforementioned DVD. I sat on the edge of my seat watching the performance. Awesome, brilliant, tastefully played licks!

I'd love to play jazz, I never listen to it though

I don't suppose anyone could recommend some artists who I might have guitar pro tabs of in my collection of all the tabs from mysongbook from jan 2006

isn't jazz basically fancy chord progressions with improvising on top?

I like the Blue Note/be-bop era stuff - Art Blakie, Coltrane before he went way outta space, Herbie Hanc--k pre-electronica and particularly the guitar of Professor Kenny Burrell.  I'm not so keen on later jazz guitarists like Pat Metheny, its just a bit out of my league musically.
