we did some multitracking on last weeks rehearsal, but the solo was .. ehem ... not so good, so I decided to overdub it this morning with my newly installed BlackDog bridge and VHII neck set.

Edwards LP => RMC3 wah => Crunch Box => Octane Fuzz => Budda SD30

It's a sick sound but real fun playing.

Sorry if it won't help so much judge the pickups - but the clarity of the BKPs is needed to make that Octane pedal scream.

I'd say take a hendrix(dunlop) sceam wah and you can go that extra yard, this is just a small bit too thick for that ultimate FUZZ attack. You could also put an EQ after the wah by the way, but.... owell.

If your goin to FUZZ do it 100% and dont care about what anyone thinks  :twisted:

Great stuff!

Yeah, I liked that although I tend to prefer fuzz with single coils.

Doesn't seem at all muddy, and I generally don't like fuzz, another vote for the 'awesome' option

I'd go for a little less Fuzz - it's very nice, thick and saturated, but I'd just prefer it to be very nice, thick and raunchy. Bit more treble, bit more air!
EDIT: saying that I'm listening thru macbook speakers which are neither thick nor raunchy
LOVING the Mules!

well, i loved the playing, but my discriminating nature tells me otherwise about the sound.  A year ago, i probably would have said "WOAH AWSOME!" however, now i'm sure there was a bit of mud.  It was not totally unclear, it was more defined than most amps and production might be with fuzz, especially for that fluid style of playing (we are obviously not talking doom level of fuzz here).  Yet, again, the note definition is slightly lacking in character.  This is why i chose the in between slot.  It is not soooo muddy it cannot work well, but it is not so clear either.   And certainly not clear enough for me to appreciate it with a "fuzzoliciously awsome man" kind of attitude.  I am probably being more critical here because i know your recording and tone standards are above the norm, to say the least.  Overall though, it sounded pretty sweet!

^I agree with what said by this gentleman. I'm not a fuzz-fan so obviously I'm biased, but I wasn't really impressed by the tone. Good playing as always though.

I loved it on the bridge pick up, but the neck pick-up did seem a little muddy. but that's being really picky.

Hmmm, yeah there is some truth on those for sure, really appreciated!

Maybe after all the fuzz alone is enough, and it's a bit more raspy when the gain isn't so high.
