must have been quite a show!

i'd have been shouting for 'the immigrant song' if i'd have been there, my favourite led zep tune.

on the other hand, they did play this:

:D Does anybody know what the set list was ?

The TV news are reporting that Zep have or are about to announce a tour !  :D

I read or heard somewhere that the band have been offered to do the tour somewhere in the region of  £80, million per band member ! Yes thats pounds sterling not dollars. Just goes to show how much money the record company stands to make doesn`t it ? i mean if the band will recoup an estimated fortune of £32 million then how much in cash terms will the tour actually generate ? frightening really isn`t it  :P

As for last night Plants voice has had it & he looks like Wurzel Cumage ! Page has aged better as has Jones but it did sound good & the British news media were showing clips of the gig last night [ Black Dog ] and i have to say although Plant couldn`t reach the notes he used to [ This is not a criticism as at the age of 60 + he cant be expected to hit those notes ] The band did sound great even the You tube clip posted here obviously taken with a mobile phone [ cell phone to our American cousins ! ] Kashmir still sounded great !!!!

 :D  8)
God I could do with a Gin & Tonic !

As a singer I can tell you that at the age of 61 there is no way on earth he'll ever have the range he had 40 years ago.  Even the legendary Pavarotti had been critisised for many years before his death this year that his voice had lost its edge, and opera singing is a lot better for your voice than the tortuous screaming of rock.

The older you get the more the edge comes off the voice culminating in losing up to tone and a half off the top of your range.

Those clips don't exactly show Plant off in the best light, but I have to admit that the clips on the BBC news this morning through my big TV rather than a wooly copy off Youtube sounded a lot better.  Yes the voice hasn't the range, but it now has a mellowness to it that I feel almost suits the blues better than the ragged screech he used to have.

I'd pay to see them......simple as that :D

They are old folks now, though it still sounds pretty damn good from the clips and it must have been magical actually being there.
Can't believe they didn't play the immigrant song!!  :o

They were never going to be as good as they were 30 years ago- they are old men! But they are legends, and I'd give my right leg to see them.

Dazed and confused was pretty cool as well page got the old violin bow out. He has these cool lazers going around him while he was slaping the guitar with the bow.

Wouldn't surprise me if that was a strategic decision to spare Plant's voice! ;)

Obviously I've only heard/seen the dodgy YouTube clips and read the reviews, but it sounded like the pulled it off ... honestly, better than I had expected/feared.  Dunno if they'll tour, but I'd sure like to see the DVD.  Seems only fair that us "normal" folks who couldn't get tickets or go to the show should get some kind of chance to share in the fun! 'Cause it sounds like it was fun! 8)

there was a good picture of Jimmy Page in the free paper on the train, I was quite surprised to see he was using an engl cab, he also had a pair of old marshall amps (something pre jcm800) and another cab with no name on it, I'd guess it was a marshall

I am such a non-Led Zep fan, this is the most coveted reunion in the world ever... and boy don't they know it. I've smelt a money rat since day one and now reports that they're set to earn £1Bn with a world tour just pours hot water all over this idea that they only got back together for the charity gig for that Atlantic Records guy.

John Bonham was amazing, one of the greatest drummers of all-time but as far as I'm concerned, Plant could never sing and Page is a sloppy, greatly over-rated guitar player.
