Pickup identification
« on: December 13, 2007, 03:24:38 PM »
Just received some Black Dogs for my ESP, however the Ebay man i bought them off has taken off the Bridge and Neck stickers, i don't have a multimeter so i can't tell by that.

The only help i have is that i weighed them both and one came out heavier than the other so im guessing more winds = more weight so the heavier one is the bridge p/up?

All help is appreciated!

I hope it's right, though at the same time i don't want to take a chance as i weighed the Seymour Duncan JB against the '59 and both came out at the same weight.

that being said, you can pick up a multi-meter in a hardware shop for about a tenner.  once you have one you find yourself testing everything in sight for the first while!  it may seem unnecessary, but they're pretty useful things to have lying around.

Is the neck lead longer and bridge lead shorter?

Other than that I'd use a multimeter like blue said, this would be most reliable.

Yeh the one i believe to be the neck looks like the lead is a bit longer.

Were you right? Was the heavy one for the bridge?
