What BKP pickup would best emulate the Fear Factory Demanufacture album guitar sound? It is really really tight, with a good amount of low end and grunt but it's definately mid scooped to a point. Fast bass response. Smooth high end. Miracle man? CW?

I have a older ibanez with a lo-pro edge and stock pickups which I think are real dimarzios (since ibanez used to use them). The EQ is about right but I think I need a bit more gain. Not as much as a EMG 81 though, I need more dynamics than that.

I think Dino was using EMGs then, I know it was before he got his Ibanez and he used an ESP and a modded JCM800. So I'd go with a Miracle Man. A Ceramic Warpig might also be good but you said you didn't want too much gain.

miracle man if your ibanez is mahogany
ceramic pig for basswood or alder
painkiller is awesome for this style too
my friend plays in a fear factory/korzus/meshuggah influenced band and his mahogany 7 string ibanez + painkiller works great for it

It's the Colin Richardson-style early "wall of sound".

Basically double everything multiple times (which means you need the rhythm chops of Dino probbaly to get it that tight) and add enough bass to the guitar to drown out any bass player completely. Voilá, you got the Demanufacture sound.

100% certain it was EMGs.

And I think you're spot on with the Amp aswell...

Miracle Mans would be perfect - Ceramics Warpigs would be different to the Demanufacture sound - But absolutely awesome.

Micheal Amott of Arch Enemy says his recorded rhythm parts are quadrupled.

I would like to hear this remastered Demanufacture.

When classic sounds are heard your mind can't think outside the desire for emulation. I have suffered from this problem a lot. Equipment manufacturers understand this principle.

i think it depends a lot on the wood, amp, boost pedal
but certainly you'll need a strong ceramic pickup

for big mahogany guitars with strong mids like a gibson V or les paul i'd go with miracle man
for alder or mahogany mid sized guitars (think gibson sg or jackson king v) i'd choose the painkiller

if your ibanez is rg style and made of basswood, certainly the ceramic pig will be the best choice, BUT only if your not considering none of the other factors
a super strong pickup cannot be boosted as much as a less powerful one, or it may get muddy and it varies a lot with the amp
